The centerpiece is really the heart of a dinner table. It sets the mood, tone, and atmosphere of the meal. The colors, flowers, and overall arrangement can enliven your guests or put them in a more serious and pensive mood. Thankfully, autumn is a season full of crimson red and shimmering gold hues, colors that will make your table look lively, festive, and ready for the holidays! The following are a few creative ideas for centerpieces with an autumn feel.
1. Crystal Splendor
Place apples, pears, pomegranates, and mini pumpkins on a large crystal
platter. Decorate with scattered gold, red, and green leaves. In the center of the platter, place a large white candle wrapped in gold or dark red ribbon.
2. Sweet and Elegant
For a more intimate and simple centerpiece, take an antique sugar bowl and place a variety of colorful orange, red, pink, and yellow flowers inside.
3. Beauty in the Unbalanced
This centerpiece arrangement will take a longer time to put together, but the effect is sure to impress your guests. Place a few candles in a circle (use fall colors). In the center of this circle, place an elevated platter. On this platter, group together red and gold fruits (apples and pears tend to work best) along with an elevated candle. Put two matching vases next to the platter, filled with evergreens, mums, yellow roses, and dangling red berries.
4. A Centerpiece for Every Guest

Instead of focusing on one large centerpiece, create individual “centerpieces” for every guest. Tie a white or red ribbon around a mini vase. Place small mums or hydrangeas in every vase and place this above each guest’s dinner setting. For an extra special touch, write your guests’ names out on small placards and lean these against the vases.
5. Dramatic and Stunning
For a full-sized dining table, stack pumpkins of different sizes on top of one another. Feel free to get creative and spray paint a few pumpkins silver or gold. Scatter tea-light candles, flowers, berries, and twigs around the pumpkins. Use red pillar candles to balance out the small tea-light candles.
