Nolcha Fashion Week Night 2

The crowds grew and so did the anticipation at the second night of Nolcha Fashion Week on September 14. Backstage before the show was a madhouse of fabric and people milling about trying to put the finishing touches on hair and makeup and making sure every model was dressed in what they were assigned by the array of designers presenting that night.
Hungarian designer Dora Abodi’s collection consisted of ladies dressed in crumpled ruffles accenting them from their heads to some of their toes with some sparkle at their feet. A mixture of taupe, baby blue, silver, grey, coral and white came down the runway with strips of complimentary material zigzagging across the body, drawing the eye back and forth. Pleats rested around the sweetheart necklines of many pieces; all were structured but remained feminine and modern.

Backstage was abuzz with models, makeup, hair and gorgeous fashion backstage at the Nolcha Fashion Week on the evening of Monday September 13. The evening runway show consisted of designers who have showcased their work throughout the world and classic makeup and hair that anyone can replicate.
Narciss was the first to hit the runway. Created by Alise Trautmane, who had the models donned in beautifully modern dresses in shades of dark blue, black, gray and cream dotted with touches of bows, strands of beads and spectacular prints.
With so much going on with the clothing she opted to have the models keep it simple in the makeup department. A nude eye with a coral undertone was placed on the lid and the lower lash line was paired with a clean face (more…)
Second Annual SoleMates Heel-a-thon

The 2nd Annual High Heel-a-thon kicked off this past Wednesday in Manhattan with “Regis & Kelly” where women from across the country, including Kelly herself, competed in their high heels (3 inches and higher) for charity, cash, and other prizes in support of “The Heart Truth” association for heart disease awareness. Although there were only three official winners, all 500 contestants were given the bestselling SoleMates High Heeler in the event’s official gift bag – which will no doubt be put to good use with the high heel lovers. SoleMates was invented to prevent heels from sinking into grass, getting caught in small crevices, cobblestones and other hazardous surfaces. (more…)
