Lovin’ vs. Sexin’: Is there a difference?

In talking about relationships, there’s no denying that we are also sexual beings. By that, I don’t mean crave and always ready to get busy (although that could apply to many of us). No, I’m talking about the fact that we physically respond to someone that we desire. That is, we have a natural urge to crave intimacy with someone we want. It’s very beautiful.
However, where it gets tricky – and what I want to scratch beneath the surface of – is making the distinguishing factors between simply the act of sex from making love, which tackles the emotional side of things, way beyond the hormone rush that drives you to do the deed in the first place. (more…)
To shack up or not to shack up …

In these forward-thinking times, it might surprise you to learn that many relationship experts have put a negative spin on cohabiting before marriage by linking it to an increased chance of divorce. The most common reason sited, seems to be the not-exactly-off base assumption that many couples view living together as a test. The thinking is that since all couples suffer from some incompatibility, when issues arise, there’s a tendency for one partner to view the other as “failing” the test—and moving on because of that.
However, there are plenty of upsides to shacking up IF you’re in a solid, committed relationship where both partners exhibit clear communication, and are willing to accept imperfect days. (more…)
Some Topics Are Not Fair Game on the First Date

So it’s official. You’ve landed that date with the cutie you’ve been eyeing. Finally! Naturally, you’re thinking about the usual: Do we do drinks, dinner and a movie or something a little more creative? Do we go to my neighborhood, his, or neutral ground? Then of course there’s the big one: What in the heck are you going to wear?
