A few weeks ago, I met with my editor and in our meeting I went on about how I heard that “lilac” was going to be the color of choice this fall…
But, as I perused designers Tracy Reese, Carolina Herrera, Badgley Mischka, Anna Sui and Zac Posen’s shows…I realized, I stand corrected…
By no means are we living in a pastel world, but instead Fall 2009′s color palette sets the tone and ushers in a theme of forest and earth colors. Moss greens, smokey grays, deep shales, and bold golds and ambers were all making statements on the runway.
Sun-kissed chiseled cheekbones, flawless skin and thick, plush brows seemed to be on every designer’s mind.
Now, achieving these looks will not require you to utilize every piece of makeup you own, but instead follow the age old adage, “Less is more.”
For it will not be what you use per se, but what you do with it that will send all heads turning…

In Need Of A Strong Killer Pout:

And as for the windows to the soul…
THE EYES:
If standout peepers is what you seek, then utilize Nars’ Matte Eye shadow in Slate Grey and Apple Green ($19, Sephora stores) or MAC’s Shadow in Amber Lights, Goldmine, and Sumptuous Olive ($14.50, maccosmetics.com)…And as the finishing touch, rim the eyes and then gently smudge with MAC’s Eye Kohl in Smolder ($14.50, maccosmetics.com).
So, with the proper application and with products that make applying your makeup effortless, you’ll now be prepared to hit the runways of your town.
Happy Cat Walk!
